UK Status
Resident. A widespread but very local species found
in Britain as for north as the Lake District.
Montgomeryshire Status
First recorded in 2013 at Middletown in the east of the county. This
very uncommon species is only the sixth record for north Wales.

Tischeria ekebladella.

Wherever the foodplant is found.
Foodplant
Oak and sweet chestnut.
Lifestage data
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on upperside of leaf. Larva produces a flat brown
blotch which has concentric rings as the mine develops. Overwinters
until the spring within the mine then pupates in the mine without a
cocoon. |
